We’re hiring an Investment Associate in Dusseldorf!

As our new Investment Associate in Dusseldorf, you'll be part of a team of over 150 Sunrockers who are committed to expanding sustainable energy solutions throughout Europe. 

About the team

You will work closely with professionals from different disciplines, such as project management, business development and legal. You are part of the Investment Structuring and Management team, which consists of 6 colleagues in the Netherlands, France and Germany. The team is responsible for developing new business models, structuring commercial deals, ensuring bankability on the project level, building and maintaining financial models, monitoring ongoing projects and the investment governance. Your responsibilities include:

  • Crafting solid business cases for PV, storage and new energy solutions, ensuring projects are bankable and well‑structured.

  • Shaping Sunrock’s new propositions — from carports to EV charging — using financial insight to turn concepts into viable investments.

  • Bringing technical, commercial, legal and operational elements together into clear project structures and portfolio‑level models.

  • Spotting financial risks and opportunities in project agreements and energy markets and communicating them clearly to support fast, informed decisions.

  • Driving investment management across the full lifecycle by tracking investment decisions against operational performance, analysing variances and providing outlooks to report on portfolio profitability and strategic steering.

  • Operating across both project teams and the broader investment perspective, covering structuring, financing and the overall value case.

Job requirements

This is you: 

  • A master’s degree and minimum 3 years of experience in investment banking, project finance, infrastructure development, the energy sector or a related field. 

  • Strong analytical skills to make connections between financial figures and project content with strong financial modelling and analysis capabilities. 

  • A good understanding of legal points from an investment and financing point of view. 

  • Proven experience or strong interest in the energy sector. 

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex financial concepts, successfully simplifying them and providing clear decision-making materials to management 

  • An entrepreneurial and forward-thinking mindset, actively challenging the status quo. 

  • Proficiency in German and English, with strong communication skills.
