Director Commercial Strategy, Product and Marketing (CPM)

The Director CPM leads the intersection of commercial business strategy, product innovation and marketing execution. The role is responsible for shaping Sunrock's commercial strategic direction, leading the product and marketing development and designing go-to-market initiatives to drive business growth across the Netherlands, France and Germany. This role ensures that innovative clean energy solutions are successfully brought to market, aligning with both current client needs and new customer segments, and in full cooperation with the managing directors of the countries to set them up for success. The MDs are responsible for delivering the commercial and operational performance in their countries with their teams.

Given the different market conditions in each country, the Director must adapt strategies accordingly. The energy transition is most advanced in the Netherlands, making it a key market for piloting and scaling new solutions. France and Germany present different regulatory landscapes, client demands, and levels of market readiness, requiring a tailored approach while still centralizing processes and ways of working across the organization.

This role is critical in leading Sunrock’s organizational transformation, focusing on expanding the client portfolio and optimizing product-market fit, rather than geographical expansion.

Key responsibilities

Drive Sunrock’s growth across the Netherlands, France, and Germany by leading strategy, product innovation, and market expansion in the fast-moving energy transition by:

  • Shape and execute strategic initiatives to accelerate growth and competitive advantage.

  • Lead business and product strategy. Spotting market trends, identifying opportunities, and creating scalable business models.

  • Drive go-to-market strategies for new energy solutions, guiding local teams from concept to successful launch.

  • Ensure cross-market alignment while adapting to local needs for maximum impact.

  • Expand our customer base and build strategic partnerships across regions.

  • Champion our brand with powerful messaging, campaigns, and customer engagement.

  • Lead and inspire multi-country product marketing and development teams.

Impact of the role

The Director CPM role is pivotal in ensuring that Sunrock’s (new) energy solutions are successfully developed, adopted, and scaled across the Netherlands, France, and Germany. By balancing market-specific adaptation with centralized processes, this position directly contributes to Sunrock’s leadership in the energy transition and its long-term growth.

Job requirements

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience: 15+ years in strategy, product management, and/or marketing roles.

Analytical & problem-solving: Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Leadership & team management: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Product & market expertise: Experience in digital marketing, product lifecycle management, and market research.

Communication & stakeholder management: Excellent ability to engage, influence, and align stakeholders across multiple regions and departments.
