The Role:
The Senior QHSE Manager is a strategic leadership role, responsible for overseeing QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) standards across Sunrock’s operations in the Netherlands, Germany, and France. The role is focused primarily on safety with a secondary focus on quality. You will lead the implementation of QHSE policies, develop safety strategies, and ensure compliance with all local and international regulations while driving / improving a culture of safety (awareness) and continuous improvement within the organization.
Your Responsibilities:
Strategic leadership - Take full ownership of QHSE policies and strategies across all countries where Sunrock operates. Ensure that QHSE is used strategically to ensure safety (awareness), quality and compliance in all operations.
Safety focus - Prioritize safety management / awareness, with a particular emphasis on protecting people and equipment. Develop and implement safety protocols and ensure their enforcement across all teams.
Training & development - Lead the training initiatives for the team, ensuring that employees across all regions understand and adhere to safety regulations. Create a community of QHSE champions who drive continuous improvement.
International collaboration - Collaborate closely with local teams across the Netherlands, Germany, and France, challenging them to align with global QHSE strategies while addressing country-specific safety challenges. Ensure that QHSE reporting from the regions is timely, accurate, and actionable.
Business partnering & improvement - Work closely with the business teams to understand operational challenges and proactively identify and resolve QHSE issues. Challenge and push the business to improve safety and quality performance across the organization.
QHSE policy development - Develop, implement, and monitor QHSE policies across all regions.
Be responsible for the continuous improvement of safety measures, and ensure policies are followed.
Risk management & compliance - Monitor and report on safety metrics, ensuring compliance with national and international regulations. Address any discrepancies, and provide recommendations for improvement to senior leadership.
Travel & stakeholder management - Willingness to travel across countries to oversee operations and meet with local teams, enforcing QHSE standards in each market.
Job requirements
What You Bring To The Table:
Experience - At least 5-7 years of senior QHSE management experience, particularly in industries
with high safety and compliance standards, such as renewable energy or construction.
Education - A background in safety management, with a preference for candidates holding Hogere
Veiligheidskunde (HVK) qualifications or similar safety credentials.
Country expertise - Familiarity with QHSE practices in two countries would be ideal (Netherlands,
Germany, and France). Proficiency in Dutch, German, or French is a plus.
Leadership skills - Ability to lead and challenge cross-functional teams, creating an environment
of ownership and accountability. Experience in mentoring and developing QHSE ambassadors
within the organization.
Proactive mindset - A strategic thinker who is hands-on in implementing solutions and willing to
challenge the status quo to drive improvements.
Communication skills - Excellent communication skills to work with senior management, local
teams, and external stakeholders.
Travel flexibility - Willingness to travel across the Netherlands, Germany, and France as needed.
