The Role:

As Revenue Accountant at Sunrock, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing our revenue recognition processes and credit control function across multiple European countries. You’ll ensure our financial operations are accurate, efficient, and compliant, while working closely with cross-functional teams in the Netherlands, Germany, France, and beyond.

This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is motivated to contribute to Sunrock’s mission of building a sustainable future. With regular collaboration across borders and occasional travel, you’ll help optimize workflows and ensure seamless revenue management in our expanding clean energy ecosystem.

Key responsibilities:

Revenue Accounting (40%)

  • Oversee and manage monthly revenue recognition for the Netherlands, Germany, France, and other European locations, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS 15).

  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and local finance teams to ensure accurate billing and revenue recording.

  • Prepare detailed revenue reports and disclosures for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support financial statement preparation and audits related to revenue.

Credit Control (30%)

  • Manage the credit control process across multiple European countries, ensuring timely collection of payments and reducing overdue accounts.

  • Resolve payment disputes in collaboration with local teams, fostering strong client relationships.

  • Provide regular updates to leadership on outstanding receivables and credit performance.

Revenue Administration & Invoicing (20%)

  • Handle monthly invoicing across European markets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with contracts.

  • Maintain revenue parameters, including indexation of fees and pricing updates, in line with contractual agreements.

  • Administer and account for revenue-related grants and incentive schemes.

Collaboration & Process Optimization (10%)

  • Work with cross-functional teams in sales, operations, and legal to address issues impacting revenue or credit control.

  • Travel to European locations as needed to optimize revenue processes, support local teams, and ensure alignment.

  • Contribute to process improvements, finance projects, and system implementations.

Job requirements

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACA, ACCA, or CIMA preferred.

  • 3–5 years of experience in revenue accounting and/or credit control, preferably with international exposure.

  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles (e.g., IFRS 15).

  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across borders.

  • Proficiency of the Dutch & English language

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

  • Willingness to sometimes travel to support teams in the Netherlands, Germany, France, and beyond.
