About the role

As Technical Project Manager, your mission is to support developing technically feasible projects and to act as a bridge between Technical Experts and Project Development to ensure that all Sunrock projects in development meet the highest technical standards. You will be reporting directly to the Technical Lead Development, and working closely with a team of technical experts and project developers. You have a key role in standardizing technical processes and organizing EPC-tenders to prepare technically sound and cost-optimized projects for execution.

Your responsibilities

• Support developing solar and smart energy projects from proposal phase to financial close, ensuring smooth handover to construction and commissioning;

• Work closely with other Technical Project Managers to ensure technical feasibility, optimized system design, and compliance with internal standards and regulations;

• Collect all information and create Request for Quotations (RfQ) for our energy projects in alignment with Technical Team and Project Developers. Detect possible source of error in RfQs to increase the efficiency of EPC Tenders;

• Act as Technical Gate Keeper by reviewing planning, structural constraints (in collaboration with an external structural engineer) and site visit documentation;

• Organize with Technical Lead EPC Tenders and support concluding EPC contracts in close collaboration with other internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment on technical scope, risk allocation, commercial terms and timelines;

• Ensure a smooth transfer to Implementation Team by collecting all the relevant documents and coordinating with other shareholders;

• Provide technical guidance to Project Developers throughout the development lifecycle and act as technical expert wherever needed i.e. site visits, gathering information etc.;

• Support the Business Development team with technical assessments of projects or portfolios to ensure high‑quality project origination.

What you bring to the table

• Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field;

• Experience in project development or project management of PV systems;

• Understanding of PV system design, grid connection requirements, and relevant technical standards;

• Experience in defining project requirements, evaluating EPC offers, and negotiating technical and commercial terms;

• Structured, proactive and hands‑on mindset with a high sense of ownership;

• Fluent in German and English;

• Willingness to travel as required; based in or near Düsseldorf (or willing to relocate).
